MBA director receives NCACPA speaking honor

The North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) has announced that Dr. Gary F. Kohut, Professor of Management and Director of the MBA Program in the Belk College of Business, received a 5.0 Discussion Leader Award for 2015.

Kohut will be recognized at NCACPA’s Annual Business Meeting and Recognition Dinner on May 3 at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro, N.C.

The NCACPA considers the 5.0 Discussion Award prestigious for NCACPA speakers. According to the organization, recipients must obtain a perfect 5.0 score on each attendee’s evaluation of both the presenter’s knowledge of the subject matter and their presentation skill. 

Kohut joined the Belk College faculty in 1983. He  teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in communication and management. His research focuses on corporate communication strategy, leadership and management development and applied technology in business communication. He is co-author of three books: Business Communication: A Functional Perspective, Contemporary Business Report Writing, and Write to Win. He has published articles in both academic and practitioner journals, and has written chapters and cases in communications, management and marketing texts. Kohut has conducted management development seminars and workshops for several major regional and national corporations. Kohut is an active member of professional associations and is a member of the board of Comtech Enterprises.
