UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business achieved its highest ranking to date in the part-time MBA rankings by U.S. News and World Report, placing No. 42 among all business schools nationwide.
The Belk College’s part-time MBA jumped 17 spots over last year in the 2018 “Best Graduate Schools” rankings released Tuesday. UNC Charlotte tied at No. 42 with Purdue University, Boston University and The University of California at Irvine.
UNC Charlotte consistently has placed among top part-time MBA programs nationally and internationally. Earlier in 2016, the Belk College’s MBA was ranked a “Tier 1” program by CEO Magazine, shortly after being named the No. 20 part-time MBA in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek.
“Together, our MBA students, faculty, staff and alumni have built an outstanding program,” said Dean Steven Ott. “Seeing our MBA program consistently ranked among the top in the nation is a direct reflection of their commitment to excellence.”
The U.S. News and World Report part-time MBA ranking is based on five factors: average peer assessment score; average GMAT and GRE scores; average undergraduate GPA; average number of years of work experience; and the percentage of the fall 2016 total MBA program enrollment that is in the part-time MBA program. For the peer assessment portion of the survey, 360 AACSB business school deans and MBA directors were surveyed in the fall of 2016.
Based at UNC Charlotte Center City in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, the University’s MBA program now enrolls close to 300 students. With a 90 percent employment rate, UNC Charlotte MBA graduates enjoy an average salary increase of $20,000.

The launch of a hybrid MBA format in the fall of 2016 has afforded students the additional flexibility of learning online and collaborating face-to-face at UNC Charlotte’s Center City campus. With concentrations in such thriving industries as energy, commercial banking, real estate finance and business analytics, students can design an individualized program that realizes their professional goals.
