Why did you choose the Belk College of Business?
I was aware of the Belk College’s reputation for excellence at a reasonable price, the campus is close to me, and it offers an incredibly flexible part-time option so I can work and attend school.
What degree did you pursue and why?
I chose to pursue an MBA to augment my artistic abilities with solid business education, in order to aid me in my entrepreneurial ventures.
What lessons have you learned in your courses that you were able to apply on the job?
I studied business ethics and human behavior and the textbooks on human behavior have given me some insights that have helped me with sales strategy. By understanding how people react to certain social stimuli, I can gain clients more efficiently.
What activities are you involved in when not working/studying?
I attend and do volunteer work for two different churches, mostly sound and video tech.
How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone considering a master’s program?
It’s a great school to consider, especially for part-time students. It’s right in the middle of the business district of Charlotte, affordable, and full of good educational resources. The building can’t be missed.
How valuable do you feel this degree will be to your career?
I have no idea, hopefully, the degree will have great value to my career path, but we’ll have to see. I have high hopes for the education I receive, and the connections I make here at UNC Charlotte.
