Master of Business Administration
What degree did you pursue and why?

I pursued a Master of Business Administration. Having a culinary degree along with a bachelor's degree in hospitality, I found myself in a food and beverage “corner” when it came to job opportunities. After getting the most out of my last job as a manager of a large high-end restaurant chain, I felt it was time for a change. Pursuing an MBA has opened up both my career and industry options.

Why did you choose the Belk College of Business over others?

I chose the Belk College of Business MBA program because of its reputation, location, and flexibility.

What activities are you involved in when not working/studying?

I am the social chair for the Graduate Business Association - an extra curricular group for graduate business students. I love to cook and my husband and I love to golf and travel.

What has been the best part of your academic experience so far?

The study abroad trip to Prague and Budapest. I travel a lot, but being able to experience different cultures in a learning/business setting was completely different and beneficial to my view of the world of business.

How would you describe the Belk College of Business to someone considering a master’s program?

The graduate programs in the Belk College off the perfect way to balance a career and family life while furthering your education.

MBA alumna Nicole Lamach describes the Belk College of Business as “The perfect way to balance a career and family life while furthering your education.” Lamach chose to pursue an MBA in order to expand her career and industry options with the hope of one day being the founder and CEO of the next Yeti type of product.
