UNC Charlotte’s part-time MBA ranks No. 1 among North Carolina-based public universities and among the top 15% of ranked programs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-24 Best Graduate Schools rankings, which were released on April 25.
"The dedication of our students, faculty, staff and alumni is recognized with a ranking that places Charlotte as one of the premier MBA programs in the country," said Professor Janaki Gooty, director of the Charlotte MBA program and the Dual MBA Program with EGADE Business School in Monterrey, Mexico.
The #47 ranking comes as the Belk College celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first graduating class of master’s students in May 1973, and continues to grow its fully online MBA program, which launched in August.
The Charlotte MBA program, housed in the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, offers flexible face-to-face or fully online options for working professionals who seek to grow their careers. The program has more than 4,600 alumni, the majority of which live and work in the Charlotte region.

For the ranking, U.S. News factors in peer assessment; median GMAT and GRE scores of students; average student undergraduate grade point average; the total number of part-time students; and student work experience.
This is one of several recent national rankings for the Belk College. In September, U.S. News ranked the college among the top 25 best public undergraduate business schools in the Southeast for 2022-23.
The MBA ranking was released as part of U.S. News’ 2023-24 Best Graduate School rankings. In total, 11 Charlotte graduate programs or specialties saw increases in the rankings.
